Our Academics
At Arise Academy, the academic progress of our learners is central to meeting and exceeding our vision. Academic subjects are taught with an integrated program that promote a back-to-basics approach. We believe that all learners should be given the opportunity to master academic skills that will enable them to become self-reliant, well-adjusted, character minded, and contributing members of society.
Multi-Age Model
We offer multi-age learning groups:
Littles (ages 3-5)
Explorers (ages 5-8)
Adventurers (ages 8-11)
Discoverers (ages 11-15)
Pioneers (ages 15-18)
We believe the multi-age model best addresses the varied needs of learners by allowing for greater tutoring and grouping flexibility. The multi-age model we use allows us to guide learners along a progressive continuum of growth and development rather than more stringent path as demonstrated by individual grade levels with rigid grade level standards and expectations.
Integrated Program
The integrated program approach at Arise Academy is designed to build on the relationships which exist among the academic content, social skills, and co-curricular activities. An effective integrated program fosters real-world learning experiences and life skills that are synthesized across traditional subject matter that are designed to be mutually reinforcing and engaging. This approach develops the learner's ability to transfer their learning and skills to other relatable settings and circumstances.
Our integrated program approach is intended to:
- Develop learner's attitudes, skills, and knowledge base to help them make real world connections across the program
- Provide academic activities that foster curiosity and inquiry
- Promote whole class, small group, and individual learning experiences
- Encourage opportunities for critical and creative thinking
- Foster opportunities to experience learning as a meaningful whole
